A walk with Miłosz. Judyta Papp’s photographs

Until the end of this year, if you visit one of the ten branches of the Krakow Library (in Powroźnicza Street, Aleja Pokoju , Radzikowskiego, Opolska, Królewska, Fałata and Łużycka Streets, and Tysiąclecia, Kościuszkowskie and Zgody Housing Estates), you will see large-format photographs of Czesław Miłosz.

Unique portraits of the Nobel Prize winning poets on display at the exhibition scattered around the Library branches have been created by Judyta Papp who specialises in artistic portraits of prominent Poles. The portraits were made in the years 1997-2003, in Krakow, where the poet spent the last years of his life.

Judyta Papp is a photographer, a graphic artist and author of a few albums. Next to Czesław Miłosz, she also photographed John Paul II, President Lech Wałęsa, Wisława Szymborska, Krzysztof Penderecki, Andrzej Wajda, Roman Polański, Sławomir Mrożek, Ryszard Kapuściński and many others. Her sensitivity to individual and unique features of the persons portrayed makes her works look very natural, while at the same personal.
