Skok w Book is a new Internet program of De Revolutionibus Bookstore and Copernicus Centre dedicated to niche books.
In subsequent events of the cycle writers, critics and children’s literature authors will talk about their books.
The events take place in the De Revolutionibus bookstore on Bracka Street, where you can find scientific books in the field of physics, astronomy and philosophy, as well as poetry, new Polish prose and children’s literature from all over the world. It is a meeting place of various languages and different viewpoints. The meetings are hosted by Sabina Misiarz-Filipek – literary critic, PhD candidate at the Faculty of Polish Philology, Jagiellonian University. She publishes in Twórczość, Znak, Nowa Dekada Krakowska, Popmoderna, artPapier, and Nowe Książki. Her interests include Lacanian psychoanalysis and its connection with feminist theories. She is the author of a programme for high school students RECenzuje; and Barbara Cichy – graduate of philosophy at the Jagiellonian University. By choice and passion a bookseller for many years. She loves children’s literature, Japan and the mountains. She collaborates with Torii magazine.
The program is organised under the patronage of Krakow – UNESCO City of Literature.
The organisers are currently planning to invite Liliana Hermetz (cultural and theatre studies expert, laureate of the 1st Conrad Award for her book Alicyjka), Robert Hass (one of the most acclaimed American poets, literary critic and translator of, among others, Czesław Miłosz), Wit Szostak (writer), Aleksandra Zielińska (writer, translator), Agnieszka Wolny-Hamkało (author of poetry books, novels, children’s literature, short stories anthologies and drama), Dominika Żukowska (publisher), and Marta Woszczak.
