In addition to several dozen theatre, music, and film events, Krakow is host to the most important literary festivals in Poland: the Milosz Festival and Conrad Festival. Each year, eminent writers, essayists, reporters, translators and literary scholars from across Poland and all over the world meet in Krakow for an international celebration of world literature. Events held with authors are accompanied by academic conferences, debates, concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, workshops and much more.
Parallel to the Conrad Festival, another celebration of literature takes place in Krakow: the largest International Book Fair in Poland, which in itself offers and wide spectrum of literary events aimed at promoting readership and new writing.
