Access to ibuk.pl for the members of the Nowa Huta libraries!

The Nowa Huta Public Library in Krakow bought out a licence to use the ibuk.pl service for another year, i.e. until the 4th of July 2014. This modern form of using full-text versions of books online is enjoying a growing popularity. The library invites readers to use the online reading room free of charge not only in its seat, but also in any other place, after getting an access code. The rich offer of the portal includes publications from the fields of the humanities, social sciences, economics, mathematical and natural sciences, law, medicine, and computer science. Materials for studying foreign languages, particularly English, are also available.

The details of using ibuk.pl may be found at the Nowa Huta Public Library and its Branches or at www.biblioteka.krakow.pl.

On Wednesday, the 7th of August, the ‘Flying Reading Room’ campaign will be launched. Every sunny Wednesday in August, a cargo bike with the campaign’s logo, offering lots of interesting books, will appear on the Vistula Boulevards between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Anyone may take a book from the Flying Reading Room, and after reading it, give it back – either to the bike crew or to the Information Point of the Regional Public Library in Krakow (ul. Rajska 1). The campaign is co-organised by library and the Kraków Miastem Rowerów [Krakow the City of Bikes] Association. ‘We hope that every book borrowed from the Flying Reading Room will allow all those getting some rest by the Vistula to have a great time,’ says Jerzy Woźniakiewicz, director of the Regional Public Library in Krakow.
